How To Survive Secondary School P.2!

 Tip 2:

                             What to talk about?

First you'll have to make friends. Now it may seem slightly hard to do that but it's really simple. To actually find true friends you need to be yourself! It may take a while but you gotta do what you gotta do! But then there's being popular and no matter what way your planning to act it is not guaranteed that you will be popular. But after all the friendship shenanigans you'll share hilarious memories and your opinions on school, which teachers you hate/love, which boys you have crushes on e.t.c. However after all that you get bored and have nothing to go on as well as many and I mean many awkward silences - and ain't nobody got time for that!

First of all it depends on what you and your friends have in common so get to know them in the first few weeks maybe playing a few silly games like 20 questions (which is really cliché but very useful) and once you know like nearly everything needed to be the foundation of your friendship then you start to realise what you need to talk about. But remember the discussion can not only be about sports sports SPORTS. Because in my opinion awkward silences are better.

Okay, so let's start.
What is the most common thing about you and co.

Is it books? Recommend each other books that you enjoy, go through the plots of your favourite story while not ruining the ending ;P !
Maybe do book-swapping or just lend books you had rotting in your room and maybe hang out after school in the library or watch the films of the books you both loved.

Or is it sports? Talk about new equipment, events that came on TV like football/soccer or basketball matches e.g. Maybe you could have little challenges for the excitement like races in the playground or fighting spirit in P.E. I'm sorry but I'm a klutz in all things fitness.

Maybe it could be a film or a T.V series? Personally I think that if you have a show that together you just can't stop talking about that comes on like every other day or week or even better like soap every weekday. Then you can have something fresh to talk about and also recommend t.v. shows that are somewhat similar or entertaining. Films however only last like maximum two days to talk about it after you watch it but you can still speak to them about other movies and have sleepovers while watching them or taking trip to the cinema together.

It could be video or online games? You can meet each other at school and set a time and place if it's an online game to catch-up, you could also give each other walk-throughs to complete levels and levels of video game action.

Not to forget all things fashion? Same styles and you could borrow and lend jewellery or clothes. You could stare at fashion mags all day or take a trip to the shopping centre/mall and compliment or show your opinions and become a simon cowell/gok wan on each others clothes. Go for it!

Good Luck and Shine!
